I instaled vista on my laptop, but when i boot, it just gives me a blue screen, after saying that it doesn't have a network controller driver (intel 2200bg). I can boot it into safe mode for vista, but i don't know how to fix the problem. any sugestions?
Thanks, skijon

Vista on a laptop
Try going to the Device Manager (%SystemRoot%\system32\devmgmt.msc) and from there uninstall the network adapter and then restart in normal mode. Once in normal mode, run windows update if you can to see if there is a beta driver, or updated driver available for the wireless chipset there. If not, try to just reinstall the device. ---------- Mark Dietz PROnetworks <http://www.pro-networks.org>

Another tactic I've found useful is to get the MANUFACTURER's Windows XP driver for a device. With my NVIDIA graphics card, that was the only way to get its full functionality under Vista. The Vista driver didn't work.

I instaled vista on my ibm x40, which is at the bottom of the allowed spects, but when i boot into vista it starts, then i get an error message about my network controller, then then the computer blue screens. I can boot into safe mode, but don't kno how to fix the problem. does anyone have any sugestions?

with a beta product like this, take the minumum specs with a grain of salt. Your machine is likely going to have a really hard time running vista if it barely meets posted minumum specs.
